Quick review of PROD shroud extension (Jim Gaska).

#1. NOISE: (lets face it...why else would you buy one if not for noise reduction?) Side by side, is easy to hear the difference. Human ear is not that finely calibrated for dB, so when its an obvious difference, its usually a pretty large difference.
#2. POINT OF IMPACT: Hanging a 3 long weight onto the end of the shroud is going to change the vibrational dynamic of the shroud...which is attached to the barrel. Your point of impact will likely change. In my case, changed by a good bit even at 20yards.
Test method:
Shot the top left group without the extension. Added the extension and shot the bottom left group. Removed the extension and shot the top right group. Added the extension and shot the bottom right group.

Its no big deal; pretty much the reason scopes have adjustments.

#3. ACCURACY: Seems to be unchanged.
