I had previously been made aware that that you should back off the shroud a little after "tight". I was stubborn and tightened lightly hand tight.
Upon your suggestion, PhengX, I really thought you would prove to be correct, and you may yet.
I backed the shroud out until a sliver of a gap was present. Before firing commenced, I noted that the front of the shroud/barrel assembly was lower and there was no longer visible light between the barrel band ID and the shroud (on bottom). Upon firing, shots impacted about 1 1/4" low and groups were unimpressive. On the 14th shot the group shifted 1/2" left...left not right as before. This generally proved to be repeatable and occured at about 1600PSI. When refilled to 2300PSI the POI would go back to the right.
Then I tightened the shroud by hand firmly. The POI went back up 1 1/4", there was again space between the barrel band ID and shroud, and shot groups were good. But then at about 1600PSI the POI shifted....you guessed it 1/2" right.
Question...does this indicate that at the "correct tightness" that the POI shift should dissappear altogether? 2300psi to 1800psi only gives me about 14 good shots, ie 800fps-832fps-800fps.
