Mod's consist of...

1. James Perotti lightened hammer,
2. Big Ed hammer debounce device (HDD), power adjuster, and 2-stage adjustable sear,
3. replacement hammer spring,
4. spring guide robbed from a 392, and
5. $14 .177-.22 conversion consisting of replacement 2260 barrel and .22 bolt.

The valve has never been removed from the gun, and transfer port and seal are original.

Consistency needs work, but I'm pretty satisfied with the efficiency.

What do you think the single biggest improvement was that was done - in term of either adding the HDD or the lightened hammmer, etc? Just curious.

HDD. By far. The effect of the lighter hammer isn't to improve efficiency...

...per se, but to make it possible to moderate the power setting and still run with the full rated 2000psi fill pressure.

Yep, just wondering. I can get 40 very usable shots at 18 ft.lbs with just doing a spring mod, so I might be looking to get the Ed HDD. I've got a B50 .177 coming from Ed, so maybe after I get it, I'll get back to my Disco. Thanks Steve.

Modding my first Disco?

June 20 2008, 9:11 PM

Hey steve, i just got my disco, and im only getting 20-25 shots between refills, what would you reccomend for my first mod? Im pretty decent with tools, but i don't have many special purpose airgun or firearms tools.

Thanks

First and cheapest mod? Snip a couple of coils off the hammerspring.

That will trim a foot-pound or two off the maximum power, but more importantly, it should drop the sweetspot of the velocity curve to the approximate middle of the pressure range.

If you don't like it that way, replacement springs are only a buck or so from Crosman Customer Service.
