...moving the existing barrel band to the muzzle end seems to work just about as well. I haven't beat the gun agasint a tree to find out, but from the normal hunting-knocks it gets in the field, two bands might be a bit better at keeping the gun shooting where you expect it.

Don't know if it is any more accurate but it sure has less movement. Before when I would air it up and bump the barrel it would flex, did not like that. Now it is much more secure.
Mine has one band and I tried both postions -mid barrel and all the way to the front

I have settled on the front position for now right behind the fill cap.
I feel if it is installed properly the front position is more stable and better looking if you are only going to use one band. Two bands would be the best on a hunting rig for sure.
When putting on the band, I snug up the barrel screw FIRST with attention paid to making sure the band is centered around fill tube before tightening the bottom screw.
The point of impact has stayed very stable once I have done this. Accuracy with my gun is as good if not better than with any other positioning on the barrel..
