Buster, there are two additional benefits to the shape that altered bolt besides

reliable feeding from the magazine..

The thin probe improves air flow around the skirt at firing and accuracy allowing the pellet to self center in the breech.

The rear and being shortened also prevents the hammer pin from hitting the back of the bolt when firing as well.

As long as the bolt still moves the hammer pin back enough to catch the cocking notch, it's a good thing..

right on track James

the way Jay explained it the bolt had to be cut back to allow the probe to clear for the pellet dopping into the reciever area of the breech. When the pellet drops down it needs that extra room to work correctly. on my QB which the bolt hasn't been altered, it clears just fine, but if had the thin probe it might would just clip the end and not seat correctly, but than again it would depend on how long it was. I have seen some that were very long, leaving just enough room to place a pellet.
now as an extra benifit of the thin probe is better air flow, than that is a big plus.
cant wait to get it installed.
now all I need is a new trigger with mods from MikeT and better stock, hint, hint.

The stock we can fix.. pretty soon you'll have three choices for the Disco from me alone.

The second pattern(the American classic) is just about done.

And I am starting on the third this week- the Ambi Thumbhole.
