Marauder Accuracy Problems

I have been having problems with my Marauder with flyers. It will group well for a few shots then have a couple of flyers and I am pretty sure that its the baffles and endcap that is causing the issue. I called up crosman today because I had read that they had redesigned the baffles and endcap. I told the lady at customer service the problem that I was having and what I had read here she said that right now they don't have a "trade in program" on the baffles and endcap that I could purchase new ones. I have had this airgun since june and I have tried tips that I have read here trying to fix my problem but I havent had any luck with getting it corrected. The only thing I have not tried is drilling out the baffles and endcap because I am afraid of not getting them drilled out straight and making the problem worse. I am just mad because I thought that a call to Crosman would get this problem fixed guess I was wrong about that.

Baffles and End Cap

November 4 2009, 7:08 PM

Just last week I called Crosman for the exact same reason. I explained to the service guy my rifle had the older baffles and end cap and that I was having problems with "flyers". He told me it was a common problem with rifles that have the older baffles/end cap and he took my name and address and said he'd send me a set of the new ones. 4 days later they arrived in the mail and they didn't even want the "old" ones returned. \

If I were you I'd try calling Crosman again and ask to speak to a supervisor.

Sounds like you spoke with the Sales Department...

Call again and ask to speak with the warranty department. Say you have the old baffles and end cap and ask (nicely) if they will send the replacement parts under warranty. Offer your serial number.

Why not test yours?

If you think this is a problem, it's easy enough to test. Remove the end cap and baffles and shoot a few groups. If the flyers disappear, you know what's up. If, however, they're still there (as they were in my case), that's not the problem. Switching the parts won't help.

Nothing wrong with the gun........

November 5 2009, 6:19 AM

When I switched from JSBs to CPs the flyers disappeared...excellent accuracy, no more problems. Harder pellets I figure, shoots Kodiaks well too.

Just like almost every other gun out there, my Marauder has pellets 'it likes' it would seem. Funny how guys forget (or ignore) this "fact of life" for other airguns when it comes to this one, isn't it?

Good luck.
