i converted my daughter's custom carbine last night. i got the parts from crosman for under $50 - all disco parts. it's shooting cphp's at about 820-850 fps w/ dead-nuts accuracy. it only gets about 15 shots. i have the 24" barrel on it. other than the two brass set screws going into the sides (holding the valve) and the foster male nozzle, it looks the same. it's a little louder. i have to re-seal the back end somehow because it won't catch air when filled up from 0 psi w/ the footpump. it will seal when filled from the scuba tank. i need some suggestions on how to remedy that. i also need to know if anyone's used a bulk-fill co2 tube extension successfully w/ 2000 psi and under. i need more shots but i'll catch hell if don't use the tube w/ my daughter's name engraved on it........otherwise i'd use the 2260 tube. ya'll please help mo out here. - paul d self in ft.worth.

Hold the gun muzzle down...

for the first few pumps. That should help seat the valve.

If it's the disco valve, you can remove the foster fill nipple and add a very light spring to the valve to hold it closed. Go as light as you can with the spring and use a dab of silicone divers grease to the valve seat.

15 shots from the shortish 2250 length tube is pretty good though. You could lighten the striker and get more lower velocity shots if it's just being used for close range target shooting.

RE: Bulk extension ... If the extension is properly threaded, made from the proper materials and properly assembled, you will be fine.

The trick is defining "proper".

EDITED TO ADD: I'd lose the 2400KT tube and get a 2260 and use a gold sharpie to write her name on it!

from a 2250 tube, that is really great. What fill pressure you using ?

as far as filling it from 0 psi.........don't shoot it down to nothing.

Shoot only within the power curve, then re-fill.

if you want a tube with her name on it.........

November 9 2009, 2:07 AM

you can get a stainless tube ( any size you want ) and have it bead blasted onto the tube

It looks great.

Here is an example : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFN2if55edE

and here is where to get it : http://pacificpelletguns.com/stainless_parts.html

I know......shameless plug for myself, but it is an option for you.

and here is a gun in all stainless :

i'm filling it up to 2000 psi. i'm REALLY considering drawing her name on a 2260 tube w/ the gold sharpie wink.gif . i am betting that the 2260 and 2240's an 2250's all have the same slots cut and same holes drilled into them - is this correct ?? i'm really content w/ the ease of this conversion. could you imagine how much we could having if crosman sold .20 and .25 cal barrels like they do the .177 and .22's ??
