Went to the range yesterday evening, no wind great shooting conditions.
I was testing the Mrod 22 cal.
The Crosman 14.3 gr pellets shot very good, as did the Beeman 14.6 gr. FTS double gold. both pellets shoot 10 shots the size of a dime at 25 yards.
Then I tried some Beeman 17.1 gr silver arrow pointed pellets, I had no idea a pellet could shoot this BAD. The first thing I noticed was the point of impact was low and way right. 20 shots measured 5 x 7 Inches. too large to be called a "group" not sure if it even qualifies to be called a Pattern............
Any one else have any experience with the silver arrow pellets??
Hey Bob, when I first received the silver arrows I had high hopes since they seem so beautifully machined. However, I couldn't believe the terrible groups at only 10 yards (3" groups). As it turns out, someone told me that they had great results with a Gamo spinger. So I tried them in my Gamo spinger and sure enough pretty good results. So I chrony'ed them and they were only going 650's (as opposed to 800-900 I had them going in the Mrod). So I turned down the Mrod to 650 and sure enough much better results. So the only conclusion I can come up with so far is that they don't like to be over powered. Give it a try. Steve
