Help:Air leak!

So I was tuning my Mrod 22 for less power/more shots to be used with the CPHP=Success. Anyhow, when I had the rifle off the stock, I noticed a slow air leak around the pressure gauge. I carefully tightened the gauge about a quarter turn but to no avail, the leak persist. I looked at the schematic and saw that there are o rings that seals off the air. I was wondering if degassing the air rifle and carefully removing the pressure gauge to lube the o rings would solve my problem? I don't have any divers grease on hand but I do have some crosman pneumatic oil. Would that work just as well?

I had the same problem with my Disco. I kept thinking it was the pressure gauge, but no, it was the O-rings. Slid it out and replace them. Go to the lumber yard or plumbing store and buy some silicon grease. Good luck.
