Installed the Regulator from "Air Gun Exporter" this morning KEEPING the factory gauge intact.
Modifications to rifle have been on going, so in all fairness list of mods done are listed below ...
Ported valve body, size reduced valve stem behind seat, Valve sleeve removed, .165" transfer tube, Gauge block milled out large as possible.
Bstaly type tune using an @ .375" wide x 1/4" wall silicone tubing piece as hammer bumper. *Air tube drilled for Reg venting.

First couple clips were to get preliminary hammer travel & spring preload set so velocity was very close to my #850 fps target speed gun was at prior to regulator.
Hammer ended at 4 turns preload from full CCW. Hammer travel not counted due to Bstaly bumper being in place. Valves adjustment screw / port set wide open.

Only had 2700# in the Scuba tank so fill pressure started there Regulator set at 130 bar or @ 1850#

Shot with .22 cal JSB 18.1 pellets over a Shooting chrony Beta ...

* 2700# fill NOTE: Rounded to nearest fps no decimal point.

Quit the string ....

So with a 2700# fill and Reg at @1850# in this test, Gun used 850# of air for 20 GREAT shots.
This works out to @ 42.5# per shot.
High Velocity 860 fps
Low velocity 850 fps
Extreme spread 10 fps

Needless to state .. I'M STOKED !! this is simply awesome shot consistency.

This tune was at a fairly HIGH POWER setting being @ 30 Ft Lb energy level.
Know shot count is not that great ... Just guns first tune seeing how well a regulator could do at a high power setting on a heavily modified gun ... Not to shabby actually.

When I tuned the .22 Mrod for 25 fpe

August 7 2012, 10:37 PM

with CP's, I got 32 really good shots with no regulator on a 3000 psi air fill.

Since your gun is running on a regulator, perhaps you should experiement with adding 3000 psi for the airfill. Give the striker alittle more tension if it needs it. I am better you'll get a tad more shots from doing such while keeping the consistency.

Is this a customer serviceable regulator?

More pressure ... Tension ... service

August 8 2012, 10:50 AM

As stated only had 2700 in the bottle, sense been to dive shop and now at 3300# so 3K fill is being done.
Tune on rifle my FIRST attempt using minimal spring tension. Next test session will be minimal striker and maximum spring tension
so dwell time is high, valve open height minimal.
Will see what type shot string profile I get with that ??

As for service, the Reg is adjustable is a piece of mechanical equipment so one can only imagine it is serviceable, tho not seen anything on line about anyone needing too ?

So will my death and yours eventually ... Just the facts.

Shot consistency is staying sub 7-8 fps making long range shooting a VERY accurate thing !!
Count of shots tho is in the tank being only @ 23-25 shots from a 3000# fill to coming off the reg at @ 1850#

Still tuning looking for the efficiency numbers some state should be possible?
Think power level I am at / wanting preventing it at this time.
