Disco fill issue

I had not used my rifle for about 1 yr. I went to pump it up last night. After about 5 strokes the gauge on the pump read about 50psi. It was about all I could do to cycle the handle. It felt like I was pumping 2000 psi. When the pump is cycled without being hooked to the rifle air is moving. Does this sound like the value on the rifle is not allowing air into the rifle? If so is it easily fixed?

Fill adaptor

It does seem like the check valve in the fill adaptor is stuck or full of debris. You can check this by removing it from the gun. Make sure you vent the air first and then use a wrench to unscrew it. There is a filter on the bottom side that may be plugged. You should be able to remove it buy using a small rod that fits inside the nipple and gently tapping on it until it pops out for cleaning or replacing. Check out the parts diagram on the Crosman site for the Disco and you'll see what I mean. Hope that helps.
