Response to CapEx Database Design Queries

There are several ways you could do this, 2 of the more simple ones are as follows:

1 - Create a status dimesnion with your 3 members - but that could have some downside if you need to get a project cost total

2 - alternatively, set up a sub-group in the accounts dimension called "Project Status", and update the project Status each month by loading a 1 against the correct status (ignore the other states.

This will allow you to see when and how long each project was Active, and identify the "complete" and "closed" month as well.
