They seem to be incrementally increasing every day. Was 6 on monday. Havent had time to figure it out, yet alone fix. More of a pita than anything. Tell me there is something I can do to resolve.
Oh, and greetings to all.

Out of curiosity:
1) Do you have a big screen? I would think that they would start to go off to the side, although maybe Excel wraps them.
2) Do they all work? If you picked #5 for instance, does it connect and retrieve? I just wonder out of idle curiosity.

I wonder about lots of other aspects of life but most of them fall into the categories of: unanswerable, some things are better left unsaid, or I wouldn't understand the answer if I heard it, even with diagrams, a multimedia presentation, and the Vulcan mind meld. The Oracle EPM world is somewhat comprehensible.

I had this issue after upgrading to 11x add-in (upgraded from 7.1.3), but I only had two instances of the Essbase menu dropdown. I noticed the excel add-ins menu had duplicate essexcln.xll checkboxes.
I think forum member Angie had recommended uninstalling all remnants of the prior EB versions before installing the latest one. So I went back and uninstalled everything, including removing the environment variables, removed the c:\Hyperion folder and made sure all of the Add-ins folder did not have any essexleqd.xla/essexcln.xll (I think thats how you spell it) straglers remaining in the excel Add-ins folder.
Once I reinstalled the latest version, problem went away. So far so good.

Yep, they all work and all are effective. I feel like that guy with all the arms, smoking and listening to heavy metal, sorting mail, in the post office, in Men in Black 2.
Up to 11 drops downs now. Seems everytime I start excel, a new one pops up.
V7.1.3 and Excel 2003.

Got a tip to check regedit office for the number of instances. Deleted the ones not needed, ie, #2 to through 20. Now alls I gots is one. though productivity may have suffered a bit.HA!
