Hi All,
I am trying to start Essbase Services from a windows machine and i am unable to do that. I even tried to start that from Essbase.exe, still no luck. Can anybody shed some light on this issue as early as possible please? If i need to kill all the process before starting this service, where can i kill those process? Any help or suggestions on this issue will be greatly appreciated.

OK - I assume since you said you can kill what was started if need be that it WAS running at some time. If Essbase is down - you also need to make sure all the esssvr jobs are also killed. Go to task manager, make sure you are showing all users tasks and stop that. Then - if you go to services, and right click to start the essbase service and it will not start - you security file is corrupted. You will need to replace it with a backup that is good (the actual .bak may not be good anymore if you have tried multiple times) or you can rename the security file, then start essbase in the foreground (interactively) to create a new security file.
