Getting error 1012010 using VAR func in BR Macro

For Business Rules I am using a macro that I have declared a variable (VAR SS_Room_alloc;) . When I do a validation on the Macro it validates no problem. When I go to run the Business Rule I get the error message "Cannot calculate. Essbase Error(1012010): Redeclare Variable name [SS_Room_alloc]".

Do you need to declare the variable ( VAR SS_Room_alloc; ) in the Business rule or do you put it in the macro that will be using the variable? I have declared the variable and used in in calculations within the Macro.

Or is there any known issues using the VAR command within macros?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Robert

Keep vars out of your macros.
