Here are a few photos from a trip to RNF about 15mi NW of Boulder, CO.
Temp around 85F, altitude 8,020ft.

Targets: paper at about 15yds, resettable field target stand (ram, pig, turkey, chicken silouetts) at about 20yds, and paper and plastic at 25yds.

850 (.22) and Crosman 2250XT.

Support is version of Varmint Al's Bi Fur Pod. Plans here:http://www.varmintal.com/abifu.htm

I slightly modified it with an eye-bolt so I can clip it to the backpack. Leather at the V protects the gun, and screws at the leg ends (mine need to be longer) dig into the ground. Makes a good hiking stick and pointed weapon. Several mountain lion attacks reported this year. One elderly couple fought one off with a ball point pen, but suffered lots of damage.

Ammo: 850--six mags with RWS Meisterkugeln, Superdome, Crosman Premier match and hollowpoints. 2250--Crosman match and pointed, and a variety of RWS and Crosman pellets in plastic box.

Fired from ground positions and from here:

Results: Field targets platform was a bust. Soil was too rocky to get the legs deep enough. One shot and they all fell over. Here's the 25yds taqrget board. Zeroed in at target #2. Lack of consistency is from having to click scope up or down for each different pellet type. Once done, results were ok. Then the gas got low and it was too late to put in another tank. The walking hits on target #3 are from 2250 (zeroed in at 15yds). I practiced Pelleteer's lessons using the mil.dot. http://www.network54.com/Forum/580261/message/1213506396/Last+Weekend+for+Squirrels+on+the+BLM+for+2008

I used the 2250 on the target at 15yds. Zeroed in on upper right target.

Another view of the 25yd target, with plastic milk bottle caps back in place.

Shooting time was limited. It took a while to find the spot. It's Rocky Mountain/foothills terrain with few places appropriate to shoot. And powderburners were using the area too, so had to search for a place out of their line of fire. But I plan to go back.
