Well.. with the stock I design, exactly how the barrrel sits in the reciever should have

Which was my point all along. Properly attached to the reciever, the barrel's contact with the stocks should be a non- issue.

As it should be with any rifle set up properly for long terms accuracy. The factory stocks on the RWS 850s are so hollow and flimsy up front, I'm about 99.9% certain any contact with the stock at the breech was designed for the STOCK'S benefit (alignment of the flimsy, hollow front section) rather than try to actually support the barrel.

Having said all that... back to the barrel bedding.

While the barrel on my shop rifle seems to be plenty snug in the reciver, I would be glad to go ahead and do it to my rifle.. Taper pin and all.

I will give me a chance to find out exactly which size taper pin works best and mabe get some pics..

It will have to wait a week, though. I have too much on my plate this week in the shop to get it done right now..
