Interesting gun to work on and a 8-shot repeater for a great price.

Gun 7.75 lbs., including scope and is 37" overall length. Cut 1" from front of stock and chopped barrel to 17" overall length with carbon fiber shroud/muzzle break. Added 13cc HPA power plant and covered with turned PVC shroud. Added brass trigger. More to come...LarryR:>)

What size PVC pipe did you use? Your taking the 850's to a hole different level.

I wish I were one tenth as talented as you, me , I'm mostly all thumbs LOL.
How did you cut your barrel down as I understand the barrels are choked? better yet , how does it shoot with the shorter barrel?

i'm not shooting this gun over 30 yards. Have not tested it yet at 50 yards, but guessing that it is going to loose accruacy. The barrel itself is .177 cal and cut to 17" overall length.

When I think shroud, I think of something with space between the barrel and side of the shroud. What you've got here to me is a carbon fiber barrel sleeve. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying one is any BETTER than the other, I'm just saying, to me, that a shroud modifies sound and a sleeve protects the barrel. At least that's how I'M going to refer to them from now on. Everyone else is welcome to call them what they want. B^) Keep up the great work.

the carbon fiber shroud is about 21.9mm, or just under 7/8"OD. The HPA bottle is 2"OD and it's a 13cc/3000 psi tank, regulated to 850. I will leave it at this pressure until I have time to chrony some numbers and see how the pressure is working with the 17" barrel.

I went with the HPA because I already have a 4500 psi CF tank and it is too cold for co2 here in Kansas during the winter.

Is still accurate ?

Look very nice but I have a question: did you lost the accuracy cutting the barrel??
I ask you because the barrel has crown and is chocked. Did you succeed to make a new crown?

I checked a qb last week and the tight spot was 2"s back from the muzzle, dont want to cut off two inches but if it continues to shoot poorly I might as well.I think it was in the area of the tapped hole for the sight.Good observation, good post.

in .22 it's not too tough to cast a lead lap in the bore

load it with LBT bore paste, and lap out a small tight spot.Done right you can even lap in a choke.
.177 is a MAJOR PITA to get a good cast lap,I end up heating the barrel some, and the rod it so thin they sometimes break....HUGE PITA....
I did a bore lapping tuturial a couple years back,it's floating around the web.It covers how I make a ball bearing handle, pro's and con's of firelapping, etc.
