I've used both 9 and 3.5 ouncers, both work fine, but I like the smaller tanks better. I get the same 180 or so shots I'd get from the AS can. Fills are always complete since I can chill the tank and weigh each after filling. A spare fits the pocket of the gun slip.
The fit into the stock is snug, but it screws in just fine using the Mac1 adapter. No heat needed. No damage to the stock, put the hook back and you're back in original shape. It works the same on both sizes of tanks, the part that fits into the stocks being the same. If 9 ouncers work, so will 3.5s with pin valves.
As sold by Mac1 they won't work because of the valve knob, but you can get pin valve versions for $20 off the net. I have two and two more on the way. I dressed them down a bit with a file (less than a minute each) rather than open up the adapter, FWIW.
