I think we are doing pretty good (not great) with the 22ci tanks shot count wise.
The tanks we are using are rated to 3000psi. I would not push them much past that.
You are right about the wasted space a the bottom of the air channel (the side sealed by the ball)
I have filled it and only gained a tiny amount of energy (about 5fps) But all gains are small.
It's when you add them all together that it makes a big difference.
That 5 fps translates into about 5 more full power shots per fill.
When you have the action apart, just fill it with JB Weld. If only we could shorten the
distance between the valve and the breach, that would provide a good gain there also.
But I think 80 to 72 shots at 27fpe per fill is great. Shot 90 is still at 868fps ... not bad.
