Well without boring things out to "danger" point. I got Wayne's .22 up to over 780fps
this afternoon. Here's the 4th of eight strings.... the average deviation blows me away......
Also, bear in mind that Wayne's 22 was a bit slow at the start. Velocities were a good
15fps (average) below "normal" for a 22 on CO2.
..... I think he is going to love this gun

Thanks Jay,
Yes the second string was still on CO2 after the initial tune.
The HPA version is running on 1400psi
I'm waiting to see what this does to the shot count.... it should not be too badly
effected. It's not a whole lot more air.
Roald.

Cool!!!

I am very excited about this mod.
How he did it is beyond me, Amazing!!!

When I was checking velocity on my chrony, I was getting UNDER 500fps on CO2, right from the house to the chrony outside.
We keep the house a little above 70*, so the extra 15* really made a difference in velocity, however, I like the idea of the velocity being the same, no matter what the weather outside (or inside:) is like and 780 is GREAT for a .22

I planned on keeping it on CO2, but after the recommendation, I went HP, I believe it was the right move!!
I was really hoping for 750, but was not sure we would get that high, so..., 780 is very good!!

Thanks again!!

Those readings average about 4fps below what I'm getting with your flow modded valve ,Rich in Mich spring and I never added a spacer with the spring ,does that add anything? I used a different pellet but I believe the same weight. That's quite a gain over stock.Good going.

Yeah, I got mine to 798.7 average.... but it was drilled out to an "unsafe" level
The spacer should get you an extra few fps, give it a try.
But note that Wayne's 22 was slow from the start and this mod seems to have overcome that.
This might account for the 4fps?

Blowby from Mag area at 1200psi or higher?

No score for this post

Are you guys noticing blowby coming from the mag area at HPA pressures over 1200 psi? I was playing with some larger probe seals but was wondering if we are blowing by the orange seal that seals up the valve stem near the hammer. Maybe we need a larger seal for the valve stem. I thought my probe seals were bad but they are fine and tight...

Both of my 850's blow air by, either on co2 or HPA. I came to terms with it... We talked about it with Roald and yes, probably a slightly larger o-ring would work.

Yes, Chris is right. I think the culprit is the orange valve stem o-ring.... although
mine are fine. Ken yours has been on HPA the longest, it could be worn?

I have spares and replaced one of them but can't remember which one... .22 or .177?? I think I'll find larger ones to replace with cause I know its not the probe seal.

After having some time to play with my new toy, this is one of the best shooting air guns I have ever shot.

To be sure, he does excellent work and is with you all the way through the mod and even after to make sure you get what you want.

This has been the very best experience I have had, not only with an air gun, but with any type of mod, gun smith, mechanic, etc, etc.

Thanks!!! You are definately the BEST!!!

seals don't last forever, the hammerli seals are a very tough seal.I've got boxes of many different assorted seals but probably none that tough, might be a good Idea to stock some of them.

I didn't notice any blowby even at 1400psi.
