All I used on this one was a band saw to rough out the forend tip(could have used a hand saw)A dremel to rough in the forend channel (after cutting matching angles on the original and new wood with a miter saw and gluing up),and a small belt sander to fair in the tip and remove the bulge at the gauge.Some sanding blocks as well.
The secret for me is to take it slow,keep it simple,and have some pictures of good looking custom rifles to look at.Having good examples of how the pro's solve the problems helps a lot.
