Large cal. pcp.

By chance yesterday I found details of a 0.5 cal PCP on the web - do you think that using a sub-calibre bullet and a lightweight discarding sabot
(plastic?) in such a monster would give a really high MV?
Any thoughts of a long-rod finstabilised "arrow" did cross my mind!
Accuracy with either might well be poor though - remembering the problems
with early such rounds in Tanks.
And could the slug of air provide the necessary impetus?
Sadly, I now can't find the original post - but it was impressive.
