heard screams

I lived in nothern Indiana-just north of South Bend in 1978. The area was rural but I can't remember detailed directions to the house. We didn't live there but 6 months or so. My mother and I were renting a small house behind the main house owned by a couple my mother's boyfriend knew. There were alot of woods to the rear of the house, I was awoken on night by loud screams in the near distance behind the property, it scared the heck out of me! I was home alone, my mother was gone for a few days. I never told her because I knew she would say I was only dreaming. I guess I could have been dreaming but the screams are to this day embeaded in my memory. They sounded alot like the screams I have heard just recently on some web sites.
