Please! Here in Ireland i am part of a group gathered together by the European Programme for Peace and reconciliation to further the intergration of autistic children in mainstream schools. We are made up of principals, teachers and psychologists from mainstream and special needs schools from all over the country. As a contribution to this project i am hoping to assemble an unrivalled collection of methods for teaching Austistic children in classrooms. My wish is to provide a case study template to as many experienced teachers as humanly possible in the hope that they will take a short time to (1) describe a single child and their behaviours, and (2)to outline the methods and "tricks" they used to overcome these problems and provide an education.
Of course the names of children and their schools will be omitted or altered to provide confidentiality. My hope is that these case studies will be collected together and will give a visual representation of the Autistic spectrum and also provide teachers the world over with a fathomless source of ideas and techniques.
