Follow I10 south from Las Cruces to Vado exit. Go east on the overpass over the freeway. Follow the paved county road about 3 miles east. The trail crosses the pavement and is marked with brown carsonite trail markers. If you get to the end of the pavement you've gone too far. The trail is about 1/4 mile west of the end of the pavement. Its about 17 miles of trail back to the north trail head at Las Cruces (Soledad Canyon Rd). I don't recommend riding south from Vado to Texas, the trail disappears into the desert about 1.5 miles south of the Vado trailhead. Hope this helps you.
