What to expect in Demo #6by (no login)Demo #6 is due for release at the end of February. Demo #6 will include: 1. Support for SUBs & FUNCTIONs 2. Corrections for bugs found in Demo #5 3. An audio library prototype 4. If time permits, the inclusion of more QB commands which there wasn't enough time to add before the release of Demo #5. Why an audio library prototype? It's too early to be adding new libraries like this however I was in the mood for doing so... so I did, it's added. Far from my initial post on this I've redesigned and heavily refined my original concept. To cut a long story short it allows you to play .WAV, .MIDI, .MP3 and other formats easily whilst being expandable and adaptable/compatible should the underlying C library(ies) change. I wanted to throw an idea out there and get your opinion about it. I'll provide the documentation for the prototype later this month. Why can't more be added for Demo #6? I'm no longer in holiday time (unlike in January), so free time to work on QB64 is again limited. Furthermore, Demo #6 will be released a mere 1 month after Demo #5, but Demo #5 was the result of 2 months work. How can you help? Submit links to .BAS programs which could demonstrate QB64's ability to handle subs and functions. These will for the basis of sample .BAS programs to be included in the next QB64 download.
