What people like me want is a way to continue using our programs in new operating systems and with the continued ability to run console apps in full-screen mode. That is what QB64 is all about. As for other Basic languages, I think Power Basic did a great job by dividing up their projects into: Power Basic for DOS Console Power Basic Power Basic for Windows That gives users more choices and stability in my opinion. I would encourage Galleon to consider that if he decides to expand on QB64 in the future. I discovered years ago that the PB console compiler was very similar and compatible to QB. Non-graphics programs were very easy to convert in my opinion. The same programs with FB were much more difficult to convert. That's why after three conversion tries I simple gave up on FB. I mean why take it the hard way without any known benefit? I think if I ever decide to take a look at Windows API programming. I'd check out PB for Windows, too. Pete |
