For those that actually read asterisked posts: Seamonkey = Debian IceApe (browser suite) Firefox = GNU IceCat = GNU IceWeasel = Debian Iceweasel (browser) Thunderbird = Debian IceDove (e-mail client) Sunbird = Debian IceOwl (calendar application) The reason for the numerous names in the Firefox row is because GNU originally named their browser GNU IceWeasel. This conflicted with Debian's own name Iceweasel (lack of capitalization of the 'W'), so it was renamed to GNU IceCat. To top it off, the project managing GNU IceCat is called the Gnuzilla/GNUzilla project, which one might associate with the now defunct Mozilla Suite. In actuality, it is just the project name. It shouldn't imply that it is a self-standing browser suite like the Mozilla Suite, but it does create such an implication to those that aren't "in the know". ^_^ ------------------ Waiting patiently for Windows 7, XHTML 2.0, CSS 3.0, PHP 6.0, the ratification of C++0x, and the day that I can code without logic troubles. from IP address 12.208.120.144 |
