My view on IP and open source

Protecting your IP is no problem, it is a problem when people spam or avoid bans by using various IP's.
I can not see the problem with someone not making their code open source. If you want to make it open source then you will get more respect in the community but this will not pay the bills. On the other hand ,if you are going to give up on a project, then make it open source or be despised for eternity. As for making it open source to get help then I am sure Galleon would open up to someone that could genuinely help him but at the moment he is on a different plane to anyone here.
