isn't mousewheel just a button that you can click over and over?

i mean it's like "up" or "down," but you can roll it so it's up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up-up.

in which instance it's the same as button 1 or button 2, but could be expressed as -1 (up) no input (0) or down (1) but yes, you'd need to trap every event, which you already do.
