You are forgetting that we can still use the QB IDE to write code

QBasic ignores the underscore, so you can still use the QB64 functions without a conflict. This also allows users to code a function with the same name as one Galleon uses in QB64 without an underscore. QB will still run the user's function code.

The IDE may be a long way off too, so you need something in between or you do it in Notepad.
