guessing what's far off with qb64 is the business of psychics

not to just say "oh galleon is so great!" because it would be easy to dismiss what i'm saying then, on numerous occasions he spoke of things as if they were far off, and has already done them. he talks about taking time off, then we get updates anyway. someday i suppose he'll say "it might take a few weeks" and actually mean it.

one of the "far off" seeming features being considered is not a version that doesn't need sdl, but a mode or function that doesn't use it. also he's planning to make qb64 only require the needed libs per program (right now, sdl_mixer is included whether you use it or not) so there's your "sdl free version."

the idea of making the c++ output "easier to debug" goes completely against the philosophy of qb64, because it's supposed to be a compiler for basic coders, not c++ coders. but there's no reason it couldn't output beautified c++, and as you said, it might help people helping galleon with his project.

for that very reason, i wouldn't be surprised if he waited. but as i said, try and predict him, he'll surprise you.
