Yes, QB64 is not an interpreter like QBasic is...

Each time you press F5, QB64 creates an .EXE and runs it. Pressing Ctrl+Break will end the program, but can't stop it in mid-execution because you aren't in the IDE. You'll notice that there is no Shift+F5 option, since starting from the beginning is the only option.
