The page simply looks unprofessional. The HTML source is a nightmare, too. HTML has moved on from those dark and painful days. Besides, it's bad for accessibility.

The problem isn't the background. It isn't those funny icons. It isn't the hexagonal arrangement of links. It's how they come together.

Off-centre is a big issue for me. The clash of the nice smoothed icons and the non-smooth, non-perspective-correct BASIC history strip is another issue. The "Download details" looks like a single link to me, it's confusing.
