Actually, false shepherds both mimic believers following the True Shepherd AND impersonate true shepherds. I might have mentioned before that I used to be Episcopalian? ^_^ The current leadership of the Episcopal Church try to appear as humble, Bible-quoting, followers of Jesus Christ earnestly obeying the dictates of the Holy Spirit. And they impersonate true shepherds by preaching a 'gospel' chosen to support the things they wish were true.
And what is their 'gospel'? They preach the 'good news' that God has changed his mind on many of the Bible's hard parts, and that they have been instructed by the Holy Spirit that God is doing "New Things" in the world which often contradict what he said earlier in scripture. Basically, these New Things mostly have to do with sex -- and teach that God now blesses unmarried sex and sex of all kinds including bestiality, paedophilia, homosexuality, polygamy, 'marriages' of one sex, every kiind of mixed sex and 'marriages', abortion (just another form of birth control!), and whatever else pleases a pervert. God loves us to the point that whatever makes us happy makes him happy, and he certainly wouldn't punish one of his beloved children by denying salvation. Also, "To say that Jesus Christ is the only possible way to the Father is to put God in an awful small box", a direct quote from the current presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church.
As it says in the Gospel according to Pogo, chapter 1 verse 1: "We has met the enemy, and he is us"!
How do you tell a false shepherd? They're false!. What's false? Anything which contradicts scripture and the ancient traditions of the Church.
That's why I'm a FORMER Episcopalian :^>!!!
