"So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless" (1 Corinthians 15:58 NLT)
The apostle Paul encourages his readers to remain faithful, steadfast, and uncompromising in the faith, and not be discouraged in the work of the Lord. Often it seems that what we do for the Lord is useless and a waste of time, but it isn't! It's easy to get discouraged when those around you oppose you, but we must not be discouraged, but if we do, give it over to the Lord and let Him encourage us! There have been a number of times the devil has come to me and told me that I'm wasting my time serving God and should just go on back into the world - back into the former way of life, and the next thing I know, I start listening, and get down in the dumps and get discouraged, then lo! and behold! God steps in and I get emails, phone calls, or someone comes to me and tells me that something I said in a video or in a sermon, or just day to day conversation was just what they needed to hear, and that they have no doubt that God used me to bring that message to them! Then I get excited, and the discouragement gives way to joy in the Lord, and I then turn around and say to the devil, "In your eye, satan!"
