"To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:31-32 NIV).
A true disciple is one who clings to his master's teachings and makes them his own in that he totally embraces them and remains steadfast in them. Jesus is that truth and sets men free from the bondage to sin and death (John 14:6; 8:36; Galatians 5:1). No other person has that power and authority, Acts 4:12) hence only Jesus can set one free. While Martin Luther King Jr. had another kind of freedom in mind with his social gospel when he proclaimed, "Free at last! Free at last! thank God I am free at last!" those words hold true where bondage to sin and death has been broken by the shed blood of Jesus Christ, and we as Believers can say, "Free at last! Free at last! Thank you Jesus, I am free at last!"

"Some bring God's curse on them by marking off part of the Bible, calling it erroneous, uninspired, less than the very Word of God." - Dr. John R. Rice
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God to salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16)
