"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints" (Jude 3).

"My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline and do not resent his rebuke, because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in" (Proverbs 3:11-12 NIV).

Just as a human parent disciplines their children when they misbehave, so too, God administers discipline to us who follow Him when we are disobedient to Him. When He disciplines us, it is in our best interests not to resent or reject it, but to accept it and learn from it. It really isn't a pleasant thing when God has to take us to that spiritual woodshed, but it is for our own good and it shows that God loves us enough to punish us when we do wrong, rather than let us continue down a path that would ultimately harm us. Thank God for His discipline!

Pastor Jack Howell
"Some bring God's curse on them by marking off part of the Bible, calling it erroneous, uninspired, less than the very Word of God." - Dr. John R. Rice

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God to salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16)
