"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints" (Jude 3).

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23 NIV).

IN this verse, Paul contrasts eternal death with eternal life, and shows that sin results in eternal death which is separation from God and eternal ruination in Hell. Contrary to what some incorrectly teach, death is not cessation of being, but separation of being. When the body dies, the soul separates from it and either goes to Heaven or Hell. Physical death occurs when the body and the soul and spirit separate (James 2:26), and spiritual death is separation from God. The free gift God gives to those who place their trust in Jesus Christ is eternal life, so that even though a Believer may die the physical death, he or she yet lives with the Lord and is not separated from Him. Eternal life is not something we can earn (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5), but is a gift from God to those who trust in Him. It is a present possession of all genuine Christians. It is a gift that He purchased with the Blood of His dear Son (Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:14).

I thank God that He loved me enough to send Jesus Christ to be the propitiation for my sins and has given me eternal life through Jesus Christ!

"Some bring God's curse on them by marking off part of the Bible, calling it erroneous, uninspired, less than the very Word of God." - Dr. John R. Rice

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God to salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16)
