Verse of The Day For Friday, April 3, 2009

"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God" (Hebrews 12:2 NIV).

The Greek word translated as "fix" and as "looking" in the KJV is aphorao and means "to consider attentively" hence we are to give Jesus our utmost attention as the Author and Finisher of our faith and not be side-tracked by anything else, for He alone is the one who gave Himself for us at Calvary's cross.
