"In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace" (Ephesians 1:7 NIV).
The ransom price, which was the death of Jesus Christ was paid in order that the elect may be freed from bondage to sin. In a sense, we have been bought out of a slave market of sin and given a new life in Christ, and because we have been purchased with such a high price, we need to remember that we are not our own, but belong to Him (1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 7:23).

"Some bring God's curse on them by marking off part of the Bible, calling it erroneous, uninspired, less than the very Word of God." - Dr. John R. Rice
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God to salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16)
