"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints" (Jude 3).

Response to Calvinism and Arminianism - Which?

"God, who cannot tolerate sin before salvation, certainly will not tolerate it after a person becomes saved" (far toward the bottom).

This sentence makes me nervous; it seems to say that if a follower of Jesus sins he can't be saved. To me, the message of scripture is that people WILL sin (Ro 3:10-18) even though they are followers of Christ, but they are called to repent and confess their sins. They are called with Jesus' and the saints' help to complete their race for salvation (Heb 12:1-6), getting up if they stumble.

For the rest, I heartily agree. We must not become complacent either in our election or our Salvation. The essence, IMHO, is to prefer, and persist in preferring, Jesus to the Other Guy.
