"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints" (Jude 3).

"You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God" (James 4:4 NIV)

In this verse, James likens Believers who desire to be "worldly" as "adulterous." This means that a Believer who compromises his/her faith in Christ in order to be acceptable to the unsaved is spiritually unfaithful to Christ, and such a Believer places himself/herself in a state of hostility with God. Such a one may have the outward appearance of being in union with Christ, but inwardly holding a deep affection for the things of this sinful world system of unsaved mankind, and such ones are regarded as adulterers and make themselves as much the enemy of God as an unsaved person. I would rather be hated by all unsaved men and accepted by Christ, than to be popular with the unsaved and rejected by Christ!

Pastor Jack Howell
"Some bring God's curse on them by marking off part of the Bible, calling it erroneous, uninspired, less than the very Word of God." - Dr. John R. Rice

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God to salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16)
