"Yet these men speak abusively against whatever they do not understand; and what things they do understand by instinct, like unreasoning animalsthese are the very things that destroy them" (Jude 10 NIV).
Jude was the half-brother of Jesus and in his epistle he is writing about apostates (those who have departed from the truth and embraced falsehood). In verse 10 we see that apostate teachers are brash, bold, egotistical and don't really understand the things of God (1 Corinthians 2:14) for if they had, they would not have so easily departed from the truth and embraced falsehood. They are intellectually arrogant and spiritually ignorant in that they do not know the things of God nor what they speak of regarding any spiritual matters and are no brighter intellectually than the dumbest animals because they are blinded by satan (2 Corinthians 4:4) and as a result, they are on a path of spiritual and moral destruction. They speak abusively of that which they do not understand by their mockeries and blasphemies and because of this, the Judgment of God abides on them.

"Some bring God's curse on them by marking off part of the Bible, calling it erroneous, uninspired, less than the very Word of God." - Dr. John R. Rice
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God to salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16)
