"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints" (Jude 3).

"while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived" (2 Timothy 3:13 NIV).

I this third chapter Paul warns that in the Last Days, we will be faced with perilous times and perilous men and at verse 13 he refers specifically to false teachers and false brethren who infiltrate the body of Christ, bringing with them increasingly worse heretical teachings. Indeed, in the last few years, we have seen the rise of a great many false teachers and false brethren bringing in all sorts of heresy which many, not well grounded in the Word of God have fallen prey to. For example, we have the false love gospel, emergent church, worship of angels, Word of Faith, as well as a rise in counterfeit signs and wonders such as what has been taking place in Pensacola, Florida, Montreal, etc. We are seeing a rise in the Benny Hinns, the Todd Bentleys, the Paul Crouches, and their influence is far and wide. At verse 14, Paul encourages his readers to remain steadfast in the faith and not be deceived by these false teachers and false brethren. We need to stand firm in our godly heritage passed on to us from godly men and women of God, and not be beguiled by these false teachers and those pretending to be brethren in Christ, all the while bringing in damnable heresies (2 Peter 2:1). This stuff of angel feathers, gold dust, holy laughter, barking like dogs employed by certain of these men and women are nothing more than satanic deceptions designed to deceive and ensnare. This is why studying and knowing God's Word is so important. Perilous men men also includes those who feign interest in the Word of God all the while trying to insert doubt and unbelief in spiritually weaker Believers, as well as trying to shipwreck the faith of Believers in general. Such ones are to be marked and avoided. Such ones are not even to be allowed to speak at a gathering of Believers (2 John 1:10), but with the advancing of the general apostasy of the church (2 Thessalonians 2:3;1 Timothy 4:1), instead of removing such ones from Christian meetings, they are being welcomed with open arms, and this ought not be. Brethren, it is essential that we maintain our spiritual integrity by hoding onto sound (healthy) doctrine and not give ear to those who would seek to destroy it.

"Some bring God's curse on them by marking off part of the Bible, calling it erroneous, uninspired, less than the very Word of God." - Dr. John R. Rice

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God to salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16)
