Pants to Skirt Part One

Here is a tutorial in how to convert a pair of pants into a skirt.

1. With a seam ripper completely take out the seam of the inner legs of your pair of pants. Keep ripping out the seam through the crotch area, so that everything is open.

2. Decide on the length that you want your skirt and cut off the legs at that point. Remember to leave your skirt long enough for a hem.

3. Depending on how your pants lay, you'll have to seam rip a little moving up towards the zipper on the front of your pants. See how your pants lie. If there is any bulge at all in the crotch area, you'll have to rip a bit more of the seam out. Fortunately with these pants I had to rip out very little. Some pants you'll have to rip out much more.

4. Do the same for the back. As you can see, I had to rip out quite a bit in the back. This is normal for the back.

5. Again see how your pants lie. You don't want any buldges at all. If there is any puckering you will have to seam rip more in the back.
