AAA/Jr B in State Championship

March 4 2008 at 1:51 PM
Anonymous

For how much we have to hear how great AAA is, their "studs" if you can call them that were completely outplayed and outclassed. Lordo is a huge orange pylon and the biggest meat head/ bad sport ive seen in a while. Gensler doesnt even skate and is a hot head, and Wideman was the same way.

As for the Jr B representative, player of the game Burkemper had 2 goals and a assist, Clark had 4 assists and Polizzi had one of the biggest snipes of the year.

Jr B not only has classier players, but better players.

If nothing else, the AAA players from CCP came off as lazy, hot-headed poor sports. Your not that good take the loss like a man. Lordo should be suspended the first couple games next year he is pathetic. Gensler tries to be smooth, but he clearly tripped Filip on purpose and im glad Clark dropped him immediately after.

Id love to hear the CCP faithful try to back up their boy Lordo now. He is worse than a pylon, at least if you put a pylon out there it wont get 5 penalties in just over 2 period.

YOu cant even start to compare these two situations. CBC has an entire team of AAA junior b or central states players. CCP has 3 AAA and only a couple other nice players. When you have 5 kids on the ice who can play the game its a lot easier. Lordo is a stud. Just go watch a AAA Major game he plays in and then come on here and say that. Because if you do then we will know that it is just a vindictive thing with you and Lordo. Clark is a nice player as well and would do better for himself to player AAA major. Gensler is by far better than any of CBC'S forwards. Carey would be the only one who is on Geslers level but he plays d on CBC and FOrward on AAA.

Agreed almost completely, Gensler is great and Wideman and Lordo are both really good. None of the three showed very well last night, but this is high school hockey not juniors. They all are vital parts of the AAA team which is fine and dandy. But how bout some of you AAA people give credit to Jr blues players when its due. Burkemper was player of the game. Clark had 4 points. Polizzi and Aldag both played well. AAA isnt the only way to go. Jr B is a great developmental team as well and that is evident by how their players played in the biggest game of the year.

Burkemper- 2g 2a
Clark- 4a
Polizzi- 1g(snipe) 1a
Aldag- 2a

They showed up and were more classy than anyone on that ice. They might have taken a couple of penalties, but none were stupid they were protecting and standing up for their teammates on all of them if I remember correctly.

Getting on here and ripping CBC is classless. Equally classless is rubbing someone's nose in it. I suggest all you spoiled lazy teenagers go shovel the driveways. Especially since your parents have been hauling your ass around for many years so that you could become good or decent hockey plaers.

AAA at that level isn't the be all end all. If you notice the older the level of hockey AAA and CS tend not to completely favor AAA so the difference isn't that high. It is a matter of coaching at some point. A team needs to play as one and at least they can give any other team a good game.

To the posters putting up the stats of the CBC kids did you notice that all those players could be on the ice at the same time. And you still have ROth Carey a few other central states kids. Thats my point. Other than Wideman who would Gensler have on a line with him. Who does Lordo have on the ice with him. The point is not whether or not the Junior B players are bettet or the AAA kids are better. The point is if you have 5 kids on the ice who are all at that level its much easier to have those stats. For instance if Burkemper was on CCP and Gensler was on CBC would he have 4 points. PRobably not. Would Gensler have at least 4 points on CBC you bet he would.

Sounds to me like Chaminade needs to spend more time developing players. You can do that over the course of a season if you play your entire team instead of five or six players. Maybe you lose a couple of games and you are a fourth seed. Better than getting your ass handed to you this time every year.

That was maybe the most moronic post yet. Hey dumb dumb you dont develop 4th lines and 3rd lines with benders to play against 1st and 2nd lines of Elite Players. You truely have no clue what so ever. If you both had equal kids to pick your team from then of course you should have at least 3 lines that could compete. However when you go to war you dont send out your girl scouts to battle their special forces. Go back to sleep.

I think you are missing the point of the previous comment. You have to develop your players during the regular season so that you don’t just have 2 lines ready for the playoffs.

FHC played CBC closer then CCP did and they don’t have a roster full of “elite” players. They developed 3 lines during the season due to coaches that were looking ahead to the playoffs and knew they would need to be 3 lines deep.

Now i see your a FHC coach thumping your chest like you accomplished something. You were lucky you had a good goalie who stopped like 50 shots a night. You also had the luxury of getting CBC on the Larger ice surface at chesterfield. On a smaller rink it wouldnt have been as close no matter who your goalie was. Also if you had 2 strong lines in the CBC game as bad as they played you may have even won. So your third line crap probably hurt you more than helped you. Also i dont think FHC had anyone on their coaching staff that could have developed any line. I overheard players saying their moms could have coached the team better than their coaching staff.

Re: AAA/Jr B in State Championship

March 4 2008, 4:34 PM

you can only develop players to the best of their ability. CBC has more talent plain and simple. You put a whole team of that natural talent together and the stats add up. If it was as simple as just 'developing' talent before the playoffs, then everyplayer would be equal. There is a limit to what can be done with average players. You can teach them positional play, strategies, etc. but bottom line is the more natural talented player will still burn him at the blue line. If player 'a' skates faster thatn player 'b' he will win himout for the battle of the puck. No 'development ' in the world will over come that. That was really a dumb statement to make.

What is acutally. Wow. YOur kid must have been a third liner. Thats why your saying that. Maybe if he would have played the right kids with the right lines maybe you could have held the shots on goal to only say 30. Maybe you score a couple of more goals and win the game who knows. One thing for sure is that the 3rd line didnt win the game for you. As a matter of fact i over heard people talking who saw FHC play in the other playoff games and said they were completely out played in every series but the goalie saved their ass. Your development statement just doesnt hold water in this situation. You have to have 2 strong lines at that level and a third line of crashers just to throw out there once in a while to give the real players a rest.

Both Jr. Blues and AAA provide high level hockey for St. louis. Both send players on to higher level teams....look at the list of alumni for each program. If a player is good enough his coaches will make sure they get the attention. If someone has a problem with one of the two programs...its because of their own agenda...suggest quit taking shots at these programs and be glad we have them.
