If you are like me and have hard water, you probably are familiar with your dishes sometimes coming out of dishwasher with a milky/white stain on the glasses, etc. You can test to see if the stain is from hard water by soaking one of the glasses in vinegar for 5 minutes. If the stain is removed, you have hard water.
In desperation I found a product called Lemi Shine (available at Walmart). This product is a granular additive that cleaned all the milky/white stains from the glasses in just one cleaning. It is a very reasonably priced (under $4),natural product (Would you believe lemon oil;hence the name,Lemi Shine.)
Here are some reviews of the product I found on Epinions.
Apparently, you only need to do the initial cleaning procedure a couple times, then periodically add a small amount to your detergent. A side benefit is that the inside of your dishwasher gets cleaned too

Thanks, Bob.
It's funny, I was thinking about this very subject in the last couple of days. Although I'm not too picky about the appearance of my dishes, I'm not fond of the soap residue that seems to get stuck along with the minerals. Sounds like I've got the answer.

Wish I could help you Sandy.
Bob I picked up a bottle of this today. I need to give my crystal a wash and this will be perfect to rise it with. Not in the dishwasher though. I do this washing and rinsing by hand.

Thanks Bob, I think that counter top one might work somewhere. I will have to give up a cupboard, but after I buy one I won't have any money to buy food for it anyway. Just kidding. The price isn't bad.
Sure will Bob. Going to have all 6 grandchildren the first of next week and them I am heading out to Orange Beach, Alabama if something does not happen so it will probably be a week or so.

Darn...I just got back from Walmart! Wish I'd seen this first! Gotta get some! Walmart used to have some stuff called De-solvit that I used to use all the time when I made candles. It's great stuff and now I can't find it anywhere. Drives me nuts to find a great product and then it disappears!
I found the LemiShine yesternday right next to the automatic dishwaher detergent and Jet Dri. It is a good size bottle so it should last qhite a while.

Wow! I'm going to get some on my next shopping expedition! I wash by hand, but my water is hard as a rock (from the limestone in the ground), and the stainless steel sink is coated with calcium salt as is the glassware.
You do come up with some gems,Bob. You must really browse the markets. I hurry through and get out as fast as I can.
