How do you get the dents out of your carpet that furniture leaves when you move it?

Method #1
Place an ice cube in each dent and let it sit overnight. As it melts it should lift the carpet pile. use a paper towel or old towel to blot up any excess moisture. If there is still some indentation use and old fork to lift any remaining fibres.

Method #2
Hoding a steam iron over the dents as close as you can without touching the carpet and give it a shot of steam until the fibres begin to raise up. Be very carefull not to touch the carpet

Method #3
Use a steam cleaner.

Thanks Penny. I thought about using the steam iron, but would of never thought about a ice cube. I just orderd one of those Steam mops from QVC to use on the rest of my floors , it's called the Shark. The steam cleaner only uses pads, and isn't for carpets but I will give that a try when I get it. I do have a steam cleaner for carpets, but it never took the dents out of my old carpet.

OH Sandy sorry to hear that you had to buy new carpet. I keep looking at mine in the LR and wondering when we will have to do the same.

I tried method #2 today on my new carpet Penny. It worked like a charm. I had to move some furniture around to showcase our fireplace, for the apprasale on our house.

We are trying to refinace, and I want the house to be all it can be.

Sandy
Great to know that method #2 worked and best of luck with getting your home refinanced. We did that a year ago and now I wish we had waited as the rates are much much better now.
